First Lady Michelle Obama will travel to New York this Thursday, April 30, for the dedication of the new Whitney Museum on Gansevoort Street. According to a release from the White House Press Office, “At the event, the First Lady will speak about the positive impact of arts engagement on young people as reflected in the Whitney’s education programs.”
The Whitney Museum opens to the public this Friday, and its major exhibition of the institution’s collection, “America Is Hard to See,” which has already received numerous raves from critics, will remain on view until September 27.
