Auction Happenings
A Basquiat consigned by Yoko Ono will be sold at Sotheby’s this November, and is estimated to go for as much as $12 million. Ono acquired the work from Tony Shafrazi in 1993. [Bloomberg]
The inaugural Sotheby’s Prize has been awarded to the Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University, alongside the other winner, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago. Both institutions will receive $125,000 to fund a future exhibition that focuses on underrepresented bodies of work. [Duke Today]
