After eight years at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, most recently as communications manager, Paul Jackson will be leaving to be the communications director for the New Museum, ARTnews has learned. He starts on Monday, just ahead of the February 8 opening of “Raymond Pettibon: A Pen of All Work.”
Jackson joins the New York institution as it celebrates its 40th anniversary, as well as its first full decade in its iconic digs on the Bowery. In addition to the major Pettibon show, which will span three floors and be the most exhaustive exhibition of his work to date, upcoming shows include “Carol Rama: Antibodies” and “Kaari Upson: Good thing you are not alone.”
While at MoMA, Jackson ran the PR strategies for shows such as “Robert Gober: The Heart Is Not a Metaphor,” “Alibis: Sigmar Polke,” and “Yoko Ono: One Woman Show,” among many others.
