Harlem-based drummer/producer Gobby has once again collaborated with contemporary artist Nicholas Buffon to create a karaoke-style music video, this time for “Quickie,” a track off of 2014’s Beats by Gobby.
This video maintains the same DIY feel of their last video project, for Gobby’s “Red Seal,” featuring the maneuverings of a common garden snake instead of wooden marionettes this time. Indeed, Buffon wrote in a statement:
‘”Quickie’ was shot in my mom’s garden in Seattle, WA. The snake moved in a couple months ago, while I was there taking care of my Father. It was partially shot on my cell phone and on a GOPRO. ‘Quickie’ is a karaoke video and is part of a performative event at Red Bull Studios Gift Shop NYC. This is the Fourth video I’ve done with Gobby.”
The video premiered today on The Creator’s Project.
