The Parrish Art Museum announced today the appointment of Corinne Erni as curator of special projects. Erni will take up her new position at the museum in Water Mill, New York, on September 1.
Swiss-born Erni comes from New York’s New Museum, where she began work in 2010 as a project manager. In this role Erni helped pioneer the New Museum’s “IDEAS CITY” biennial, later becoming the project’s senior producer and overseeing it travel as a conference to Istanbul and São Paulo. Erni also cofounded “ARTPORT_making waves”, a global curatorial platform addressing art’s ability to tackle climate change.
The Parrish’s Terrie Sultan, said in a press statement, “She fully understands the notion of strong local ties with a global outlook. Her high level of expertise in engaging multiple, diverse audiences and fomenting interdisciplinary collaborations will enable the Parrish to fully embrace our mission as a center for cultural engagement, an inspiration and destination for the region, the nation, and the world.”
