Primary Information, the stalwart publisher behind artists’ books in reissued and newly original form (plus musical releases via vinyl or cassette and numerous archival offerings online), has commissioned a line of artist-made postcards for use in mail-abetted protest.

“Like many of our peers,” a press release reads, “we have been using random postcards to send to our local, state, and national politicians to voice our concerns. We feel strongly that the images accompanying these concerns should belong to artists, and we have initiated this series to provide artists the opportunity to add their voice.”
The lineup of artists includes Tauba Auerbach, Kevin Beasley, A. K. Burns, Oto Gillen, Christine Sun Kim, Sara Magenheimer, Marilyn Minter, Jeanette Mundt, Sara Greenberger Rafferty, Trevor Shimizu, Jason Simon, Joshua Smith, and Dena Yago. Another round will follow in mid-June and then every month thereafter “for the foreseeable future.”
The cards, each priced at cost, are available for $1 at the Primary Information website, with links to help find addresses for relevant governmental officials.
