Today’s show: “Rashid Johnson: Anxious Men” is on view at The Drawing Center in New York until Sunday, December 20. This site-specific installation presents the artist’s newest series of black-soap-and-wax-on-tile portraits, in which Johnson deeply incises the surface of the work to create visually and viscerally poignant portraits. These are the artist’s first figurative works outside of film and photography.
