Today, the Rema Hort Mann Foundation—the charity founded in 1995 by friends and family of the late television executive Rema Hort Mann, which specializes in direct support for cancer patients and emerging artists—announced the winners of its 2016 Emerging Artist Grant in New York City.
The eight recipients were chosen through a closed-call nomination process involving over 50 New York–based arts professionals. Each artist will take home a $10,000 unrestricted grant for, according to a release, “demonstrating critical and rigorous work in the field of contemporary art, as well as an ability and commitment to making future substantial contributions to the visual arts.” The winners follow below.
