Today’s show: “Remembrance: Gay Chicano Art” is on view at the Quarter Gallery at the Regis Center of Art at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis through Saturday, May 13. The group exhibition, curated by Bianet Castellanos and Jessica Lopez Lyman, is dedicated to the memory of Jesús Estrada-Pérez, a Ph.D. candidate at the university who died in 2015. Drawing from Estrada-Pérez’s personal collection, the show presents the work of artists who were the subject of his dissertation, “Decolonial Fantasies: Gay Chicano Art and the Practice of Queer Utopian World-Making.”
