Over at the Magazine Antiques, which is owned by the same company as ARTnews, Elizabeth Hutton Turner has a story about scholars who are currently looking to unite the 30 panels that make up Jacob Lawrence’s “Struggle” series, which takes a look at moments of conflict in American history. The Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Massachusetts, is aiming to present the entire body of work for the first time since 1958, but there is a problem: no one knows where five of the paintings are, and there are no photos of two of them.
