The Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture in New York announced today that artists Donald Moffett and Carrie Moyer will now be on its board of governors, as chair and vice chair, respectively. They begin their new positions next month. Both artists have at one point been faculty residents at Skowhegan; Moyer is an alumna of the program.
The school, which hosts an annual summer residency program in Maine, also announced today that it has added five new trustees: Rena Hoffman, Stephanie Hunt, Bernard Lumpkin, Jennifer Rissler, and Paula J. Volent.
Noting that the school’s 75th anniversary is coming up in 2021, Ann L. Gund, chairman of Skowhegan’s board of trustees, said in a statement that “these tremendous additions to our board of governors and trustees will only fortify our position as one of the country’s leading programs for emerging artists.”
