After three years at e-flux, Karen Archey is now the curator of contemporary art, time-based media at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.
Archey joined e-flux in 2014. In her tenure there, she founded the organizations’s conversations website, where users can discuss various art- and politics-related issues. She has also written prolifically about technology, feminism, and identity, all with respect to contemporary art, and was awarded a Creative Capital | Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant in 2016. Prior to working at e-flux, Archey had been an editor-at-large at Rhizome and a curator-in-residence at New York’s Abrons Arts Center. In addition to those projects, she also co-organized the 2014 Ullens Center for Contemporary Art exhibition “Art Post-Internet,” which is widely regarded as one of the most far-reaching and important recent surveys of digital art.
