The Brooklyn Museum announced today that Susan Greenberg Fisher has been appointed its director of collections, effective February 27. In this role, Fisher will work closely with the museum’s director of curatorial affairs, Sharon Matt Atkins, to manage all aspects of the museum’s collection, from new acquisitions to cataloguing and exhibitions.
Since 2009, Fisher was the Renee & Chaim Gross Foundation’s executive director in New York, responsible for overseeing its 10,000-object collection. Prior to that, Fisher served as the associate curator of modern and contemporary art at the Yale University Art Gallery, where she organized the exhibition “Picasso and the Allure of Language.” She has also worked as a collections curatorial assistant at the Guggenheim Museum in New York.
