Today’s show: “The Freedom Principle: Experiments in Art and Music, 1965 to Now” is on view at Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago in Chicago until Sunday, November 22. This major exhibition explores the relationship between avant-garde jazz and experimental music and contemporary art by displaying historical materials and ephemera alongside works by leading contemporary artists, including Nick Cave, Nari Ward, and Renée Green.
Hank Willis Thomas writes:
Certain Shows are Revelations. I thought I knew what I was in for when I went to this exhibition. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Don’t bring your watch when you go to see this show. Bring your reading glasses and dancing shoes.
