The Shed in New York announced today that Emma Enderby has joined its staff as a curator. Enderby, together with the center’s artistic founder and CEO Alex Poots and artistic advisor Hans Ulrich Obrist, will help conceive the center’s visual arts and cross-disciplinary programming ahead of its 2019 spring opening.
Enderby comes from New York’s Public Art Fund, where she served as associate curator. In that position, Enderby co-curated the group exhibitions “Commercial Break” and “The Language of Things” as well as the current Katja Novitskova show in City Hall Park. Prior to that, Enderby worked as an exhibitions curator at the Serpentine Galleries in London and as an exhibitions assistant at the Royal Academy of Arts.
In a statement, Poots said, “Emma’s experience in contemporary visual art and across other artistic disciplines is impressive and wide-ranging. Her work in New York and internationally reflects the Shed’s commitment to creating a local and global program. I’m thrilled to begin working with her.”
