NEW YORK—Research and investment company Fernwood Art Investments recently announced the appointments of three new consultants: Latin American art expert and gallery owner Mary-Anne Martin; Chinese art specialist and gallery owner James J. Lally; and Ana Sokoloff, a founding partner of the art-advisory firm sokoloff + associates and formerly vice president and head of Christie’s Latin American art department.
Fernwood said the new consultants round out a team that will “provide insight and perspective on market opportunities and conditions, changes in tastes and notable trends, long- and short-term.” According to Michael Plumber, Fernwood’s chief operating officer, the fund, which is still in the process of accumulating capital, is expected to top $150 million and become active in the marketplace by fall 2006. The company declined to disclose the total level of funds raised to date.
