After four days of previews, Okwui Enwezor’s Venice Biennale, “All the World’s Futures,” opens to the public today. In the run-up to the show, we took a close look at his list of 136 artists, breaking down that number historically, as well as by the artists’ gender and country of origin. For a final, comprehensive round-up, above, we are adding in age. Sorting artists by their age (rounded by decade) reveals that artists in their forties are most represented in the show, followed by those in their fifties—Enwezor is 51, meaning that he has, at least in part, tapped artists of his generation for the show. Above, the complete report, in the form of an animated image.
