The VIA Art Fund has announced the recipients of $310,000 worth of grants for the first half of 2017. The Boston-based organization, whose name stands for Visionary Initiatives in Art, will support work by more than 50 artists, writers, and curators, as well as nine arts organizations with these grants.

In addition, its Incubator grants, which total $45,000 and are awarded to small to mid-size nonprofit organizations, have gone to Independent Curators International, Triple Canopy, and the New Orleans-based art-and-literature enterprise Antenna.
In a statement, Bridgitt Evans, VIA’s president and cofounder, said, “Each of these innovative projects is exemplary of our guiding principles of artistic production, thought leadership, and public engagement; and represents the enterprising and visionary spirit we work tirelessly to champion.”
